Industrial Output of Enterprises Above Designated Size in Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District Exceeds 830 Billion Yuan

According to information released by the Huangpu District Government on August 13, the total industrial output of enterprises above designated size in Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District has exceeded 830 billion yuan. The area has developed five 100-billion-yuan industrial clusters and three 10-billion-yuan industrial clusters.

From January to July this year, Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District attracted 311 high-quality industrial projects, including five each involving investment of at least 10 billion yuan. A total of 1,716 mu of industrial land was transferred, twice the area recorded during the same period last year, supporting the start of construction on 106 projects. Leading domestic and international enterprises are increasingly investing in Huangpu and expanding their presence in the district.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the area’s GDP exceeded 430 billion yuan, while per capita GDP reached nearly 350,000 yuan. Guangzhou Development District has consistently ranked among China’s top two national economic and technological development zones in terms of overall strength.

Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District are home to eight strategic industries and all six future industries, with sectors such as intelligent vehicles ranking among the country’s leaders. Huangpu is also the only district in China to bring together national laboratories, both comprehensive and sector-specific national innovation centers, university-based national technology transfer centers, major science facilities and international big science programs.

Since the beginning of this year, 170 industrial enterprises above designated size in Huangpu closely associated with AI have recorded year-on-year output growth of more than 30 percent. Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District are stepping up efforts to develop a provincial-level specialized AI industrial park in Guangdong, strengthen computing center development and the allocation of intelligent computing power, advance vertical-domain large models and industry-specific AI agents, and create a range of “AI+” application scenarios.
