Main Structure of Frontier Sci-Tech Innovation Industrial Park in Huangpu District, Guangzhou Fully Tops Out

On July 15, the main structure of the Frontier Sci-Tech Innovation Industrial Park project, undertaken by China Railway Construction Engineering Group, was fully topped out, marking a major milestone in the project’s construction. The project has now officially entered the next stages of electromechanical installation, curtain wall construction and interior decoration.

Located in Guangzhou Science City, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, the project has a total investment of approximately RMB 4 billion and a total floor area of about 436,400 square meters. Upon completion, the park will further enhance the sci-tech innovation industrial ecosystem of Guangzhou Science City by creating a modern industrial platform integrating R&D and innovation, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, industrial incubation and industrial services. It will provide high-quality space support for the development of strategic emerging industries and contribute to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center.

According to the project manager of China Railway Construction Engineering Group, since construction began in April 2025, the project team has adhered to the principles of smart and green construction. During the construction of the standard-floor structures of Building 1, the team innovatively adopted an aluminum formwork system featuring “one set of panels and three sets of supports.” Through standardized design, industrialized production and modular construction, the system enables rapid formwork turnover and efficient utilization.

In addition, the project has introduced an innovative suspended steel structure system to create a 30-meter column-free space, significantly improving space utilization and functional flexibility. In alignment with the national strategy for the development of the low-altitude economy and the 14th Five-Year Plan for Emergency Response System Development, the project has built a standardized helipad measuring 22.7 meters by 22.7 meters with a load capacity of 8 tons. The helipad can accommodate takeoff and landing of full-size aircraft, further supporting the industrial upgrading of Guangzhou Science City.
