MKS–Atotech is a core brand of MKS Instruments’ Materials Solutions Division (MSD), providing specialty chemicals, equipment, software and services for semiconductors, IC packaging, printed circuit boards and other fields. Its products and solutions are widely used in end markets including data centers, consumer electronics and communications infrastructure. Atotech (China) Chemicals Ltd. was established in 1997 and has been based in Guangzhou Development District for nearly three decades. It currently operates factories in the Yonghe and Yunpu subdistricts of Huangpu District.
In recent years, driven by strong demand from the advanced electronics and AI markets, MKS–Atotech’s business in China has grown significantly, with customers placing higher requirements on production scale, response speed and localized support. The expansion project will be located on reserved land at the Yunpu factory and will comprehensively enhance the company’s production, assembly, logistics, testing and validation capabilities. It will also continue to support R&D activities and strengthen global technical collaboration.
Since the beginning of this year, Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District have added 22 foreign-invested projects. A number of benchmark projects, including those by Panasonic, TÜV Rheinland and AstraZeneca, have been launched, while international giants such as Nippon Paint and Veolia have continued to increase their investment. The MKS–Atotech expansion once again demonstrates the confidence of foreign-invested enterprises in increasing their presence in Guangzhou and investing in Huangpu.
