A completion review meeting for the Changzhou Ferry Pier upgrade and renovation project was held recently. The project passed its final acceptance inspection, paving the way for the resumption of services on relevant ferry routes.
According to the project details, the pier’s original two 120-GT passenger berths have been fully upgraded into one 1,000-GT passenger berth. The utilized shoreline remains 53.6 meters and the berth length remains 82 meters. The pier is designed to handle an annual throughput of 5.626 million passenger trips and can accommodate one 287-GT passenger vessel and one 200-GT passenger vessel at the same time.
In the future, the pier will serve not only as a convenient ferry hub for local residents, but also as a scenic waterfront stop where visitors can appreciate the charm of the Pearl River. It will inject fresh vitality into Huangpu District’s efforts to build itself into a core engine for high-quality development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
