Guangzhou's Huangpu Concludes On-Site Judging and Award Ceremony for AI Volunteer Song Creation Competition

Updated : 2026-05-22

On May 18, the on-site judging and award ceremony of the AI Volunteer Song Creation Competition in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District successfully concluded.

The event was hosted by the Social Work Department of the CPC Huangpu District Committee and organized by the Huangpu District Social Work Development Service Center and the Huangpu District Social Work Federation. As the nation’s first AI song creation competition officially hosted by a government body and specifically themed around volunteer service, the competition relied on the Muse AI intelligent creation platform. It innovatively adopted multiple creation modes, including fully AI-generated, AI-assisted original creation, and fully human original creation. The entries covered both Mandarin and Cantonese, with musical styles ranging from traditional Chinese style to rap and folk. Using AI as a pen, melody as ink, and the volunteer spirit as the soul, the competition brought the warmth of technology and the spirit of volunteering into harmonious resonance.

Participants came from multiple regions across China—including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Gansu, and Xizang—representing community volunteers, university faculty and students, and corporate employees. Through their songs, they expressed emotions and spread love. Since the competition’s launch, a total of 23,000 original volunteer songs have been generated. After rigorous screening by the AI system, 10 outstanding works stood out to enter the public voting and on-site judging stages.

Finalists drew inspiration from their own volunteer experiences, incorporating real stories of community service, civic guidance, and assisting the elderly and the disadvantaged into their lyrics and melodies. Through their most sincere voices, they told the stories of volunteering.

After comprehensive evaluation through public voting and on-site judging, the competition ultimately awarded one first prize, three second prizes, and six third prizes.

"This competition allowed us volunteers to truly feel seen, valued, and respected. The small contributions we make every day can be so carefully recorded and shared through songs. This recognition and warmth have given us tremendous encouragement and strength. In the future, we will carry this warmth forward and continue to dedicate ourselves to volunteer service, lighting up more corners with our glimmers of light," said Ms. Lin, a volunteer with the Huangpu District Youth Volunteer Association, with deep emotion.

By empowering culture with technology and promoting the volunteer spirit through creativity, this competition aims to establish a volunteer culture brand with distinctive Huangpu characteristics. Looking ahead, Huangpu District will continue to promote the deep integration of AI technology with social work and civic practice, allowing the glimmers of volunteer service to converge into a blazing torch.
