Guangzhou's Huangpu Accelerates the Deployment of Intelligent TCM Equipment

Recently, the Huangpu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine hosted a Promotion and Exchange Conference on Intelligent Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Equipment, where representatives from 15 grassroots institutions across the district gained hands-on experience with 10 intelligent TCM devices. Under Guangzhou’s Demonstration Project for the Inheritance, Innovation and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the event served to implement Huangpu’s "1+6+N" Smart TCM Initiative. This effort drives the integration of TCM with frontier technologies and bridges the "last mile" in the commercialization of TCM equipment innovations.

At the conference, 10 selected enterprises showcased intelligent equipment covering the entire TCM service chain of diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and health management. Exhibits included gait-analysis smart shoes, sleep disorder adjuvant therapy devices, AI constitution identification robots, and intelligent four-diagnostic instruments, all of which provide technological support for TCM syndrome differentiation and clinical practice. Grassroots representatives engaged in in-depth discussions with enterprises regarding equipment adaptability, procurement, and operations and maintenance (O&M). Multiple institutions expressed interest in pilot programs and reached preliminary cooperation agreements.

Reportedly, the "1+6+N" Smart TCM Initiative has designated 1 lead institution, 6 flagship institutions, and 9 promotion institutions. Moving forward, the Huangpu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will fully leverage its role as the lead institution, follow up on local deployment needs, and conduct technical training to ensure that smart TCM services benefit more people at the grassroots level.
