South China's First Bonded Storage Project for Wild-Caught Crabs Launched in Huangpu, Expected to Save Enterprises RMB 40 Million Annually

Updated : 2026-05-13

On May 8, Guangzhou Wangda Seafood Trading Co., Ltd. officially opened in the Guangzhou Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, marking the full operation of South China’s first bonded storage project for imported wild-caught crabs. The project fills the domestic gap for a combined "cross-provincial transportation and bonded transit" model for live aquatic animals, paving a new path for high-end fresh seafood imports in South China.
Reportedly, the company is the first enterprise in Guangdong to be granted the qualification as a transit facility for outbound aquatic animals within a comprehensive bonded zone. It specializes in businesses such as the import and bonded temporary holding of high-end wild-caught crabs. With a Phase I investment of RMB 10 million, the project leases a 1,000-square-meter bonded warehouse and 10 specialized holding tanks. It is capable of temporarily holding 4,000 kilograms of live crabs simultaneously and is equipped with a comprehensive freshness preservation and traceability system.
Leveraging an innovative "north-south linkage" cross-border model along with bonded operations, the project significantly improves customs clearance efficiency, with estimated annual operating cost savings of approximately RMB 40 million. Its first business transaction has already been validated by the market. Upon reaching full capacity, the project will achieve an annual turnover of thousands of tons of high-end aquatic products. This will drive the clustering of upstream and downstream industries, thereby enhancing supply efficiency and price stability for high-end aquatic products in South China. (Written by Jiao Chanjuan)
