During the May Day holiday, the national tourism market witnessed a strong surge in consumption. Centered on the theme of "Empowering a Better Life Through Culture," Guangzhou's Huangpu District curated a series of themed cultural and tourism events, achieving a dual boost in popularity and consumer spending across the local cultural-tourism market.
According to monitoring data from the Huangpu District Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau, a total of 24 A-level scenic areas, parks, and rural tourism sites were included in the district's statistics. During the May Day holiday, the district welcomed a cumulative total of 292,800 tourists, marking a 20.73% year-on-year increase. Among these, the Whampoa Military Academy Memorial Hall, Huatingfang, and Longtou Mountain Forest Park ranked as the top three destinations, receiving 71,500, 50,200, and 39,300 visitors, respectively. These sites served as the core pillars driving cultural tourism popularity and consumption in the district.
