JD.com Bets Big on Robotics: Major AI Manufacturing Park Lands in Guangzhou’s Huangpu

Updated : 2026-05-11

Recently, land parcel JGQG-D5-5—located northeast of the Guangzhou Petrochemical Ethylene Plant, east of the Kaida Road southern extension, and south of Dongji Road in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District—was successfully auctioned. The site is earmarked for the construction of the JD.com Guangzhou AI Manufacturing Industrial Park.

Concept rendering of the project

Covering a total land area of 7.78 hectares, the project commands a planned total investment of approximately 1 billion RMB. Driven by the JD.com ecosystem and centered on real-world scenario applications, the initiative aims to build a robotics industry innovation hub and an intelligent manufacturing demonstration base tailored for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The facility is scheduled for completion and commissioning in 2029. Once fully operational, it is projected to generate an annual output value of around 1.75 billion RMB and contribute over 90 million RMB in annual tax revenue.

Since the beginning of 2026, Huangpu District’s land market has continued to report strong momentum. In the first quarter alone, 24 industrial land parcels were released, securing the top spot in Guangzhou for industrial land supply volume. The successful sale of this parcel further boosts confidence in the land market across eastern Guangzhou this year. It also underscores the high degree of trust that premium enterprises place in Huangpu District’s solid industrial foundation and robust intelligent manufacturing potential.
