On April 24, the themed event "Pioneering in Innovation, Leading with IP"—the 2026 IP Week and the 10th Anniversary of the Comprehensive Reform Pilot for Intellectual Property Rights in Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District—was held at Guangzhou College of Commerce.
Scene from the event
On the same day, China’s first excess intellectual property (IP) overseas infringement liability insurance policy was officially launched in Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District.
This pioneering insurance product adopts an innovative "basic layer + excess layer" umbrella protection model. The basic layer covers high-frequency, low-value disputes, while the excess layer addresses large, unexpected losses, leveraging lower costs to provide higher coverage. Under the district's IP excess insurance policy, enterprises are eligible for up to a 50% premium subsidy, with maximum support capped at RMB 1 million per enterprise.
