In recent years, Huangpu District and Guangzhou Development District in Guangzhou have actively explored new models of international communication. By launching official websites in Japanese and Korean — alongside an already established English version — they have launched a bold "three-language push into the global arena," building a new hub for multilingual international communication and vividly showcasing Huangpu's dynamism and appeal to the world. Notably, among Guangzhou's 11 districts, Huangpu is the only one to operate official websites in English, Japanese, and Korean, underscoring its leading position in global communication.
Multilingual Website Interface of Huangpu
As a key platform for international communication, the multilingual websites integrate text, images, and video in a full-media format. Available in English, Japanese, and Korean, they present Huangpu from diverse perspectives — including investment promotion, local news, technological innovation, opening-up policies, ecological environment, and public services — offering a comprehensive and multidimensional view of the district's favorable business climate and livable environment.
Through these platforms, users can gain in-depth insights into Huangpu's pillar industries, such as biomedicine, high-tech innovation, and new energy, as well as their latest developments and cutting-edge achievements. With special reports, in-depth features, and animated videos, the websites vividly illustrate Huangpu's industrial strengths and growth potential, enabling overseas audiences to gain a direct sense of Huangpu's innovative vitality and industrial prowess.
Meanwhile, the websites also highlight Huangpu's transformation and urban identity. From its history as one of the birthplaces of the ancient Maritime Silk Road culture to its rise as a modern hub of science and innovation, from its scenic ecological landscape to its convenient urban services, the multilingual platforms serve as an important window for global audiences to understand, appreciate, and connect with Huangpu.
Leveraging the broader context of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative and China's high-level opening-up, Huangpu and Guangzhou Development District have developed their multilingual platforms based on regional strengths. By integrating resources and continuously expanding the reach and depth of global communication, these websites function not only as information portals but also as key platforms for investment promotion, talent attraction, image building, and international exchange.
The excellence of the websites' operation is matched by the strength of the region's high-quality development. Guangzhou is home to more than 50,000 foreign-invested enterprises, nearly 5,500 of which are located in Huangpu District, which also hosts over 330 Fortune Global 500 investment projects. In 2025 alone, Huangpu saw the establishment of 473 new foreign-invested enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 60.3%. Contracted foreign investment reached US$1.337 billion, growing by 5.6% year-on-year, while paid-in foreign investment stood at US$1.334 billion, ranking first in the city. These impressive figures strongly demonstrate the positive role the multilingual websites have played in accurately communicating the district's value and connecting with global resources.
After several years of dedicated operation, the multilingual websites have become a flagship showcase for Huangpu and Guangzhou Development District on the international stage. They have effectively enhanced Huangpu's global visibility and influence, drawing increasing international attention to the district and contributing strong communication support to its high-level opening-up and high-quality development.
Looking ahead, Huangpu and Guangzhou Development District will continue to optimize content, innovate formats, and improve services on their multilingual platforms. With a more outward-looking approach and more engaging storytelling, they aim to share more compelling "Huangpu stories" with the world and write a new chapter in advancing international communication capacity.
