On March 17, beside Longxiang Lake in Knowledge City, with a gentle spring breeze and shimmering blue waters, the 2026 Voluntary Tree-Planting Event for Advancing Green and Beautiful Huangpu's Ecological Development, jointly promoted by district, township, and village-level forest chiefs, was held at the site.
Under the theme "Plant New Greenery, Open New Horizons, Write a New Chapter," leaders from the four principal Party and government bodies, representatives of forest chiefs at all levels, and more than 100 government cadres in Guangzhou Development Zone and Huangpu District jointly planted more than 100 seedlings, including lofty fig (Ficus altissima) and Guangzhou cherry trees, sowing seeds of hope for Huangpu's green and high-quality development.

The newly planted Guangzhou cherry blossoms swayed gracefully while the lofty fig trees stood tall, complementing the distant lake and green hills in a scene of natural beauty. In the near future, a living green tapestry will emerge — a city embraced by forests, roads lined with greenery, and people immersed in scenery.

The cadres and residents who participated in the event expressed at the event that they will take this tree-planting activity as an opportunity to throw themselves into their work with renewed enthusiasm in the new year — serving as both "builders" of a green homeland and "doers" for high-quality development, making greenery the most vivid color at the outset of Huangpu's 15th Five-Year Plan.
