On March 15, 2026, the "3·15" International Consumer Rights Day Promotion and "Guangxinyu" Prepaid Fund Supervision Platform Launch Event, hosted by the Guangzhou Development Zone and Huangpu District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, was held in Huangpu District, Guangzhou.
To enhance public awareness of consumer rights protection, the event featured an "Identifying Counterfeit Products" public education session, where residents learned skills for spotting counterfeit and substandard goods through physical comparisons and interactive demonstrations. Staff distributed consumer rights protection publicity materials, explained relevant laws and regulations, and promoted a rational, healthy, frugal, and environmentally friendly approach to consumption. The "Guangxinyu" Prepaid Fund Supervision Platform was also introduced at the event, safeguarding the security of prepaid funds.
Statistics show that the event attracted more than 300 residents, with over 2,000 publicity materials distributed and more than 50 consumer inquiries handled on site. Residents noted that the event was informative and highly relevant to their daily lives. It not only improved their awareness of rights protection and ability to identify counterfeit products, but also boosted their confidence in the consumer environment. "This event taught me a great deal about identifying counterfeit products. I hope more activities like this will be held to spread this kind of knowledge," said one attendee. Many residents praised the enthusiastic service and patient explanations provided by the staff.
In 2025, the Huangpu District market supervision system cumulatively handled over 160,000 consumer complaints, helping consumers recover economic losses of nearly 4 million yuan. In terms of promoting business integrity, the bureau has enrolled 649 "Safe Consumption Commitment" business entities, 154 entities offering a "no-questions-asked return policy," and 75 merchants registered on the "Guangxinyu" platform.
Going forward, the District Market Supervision Bureau and Consumer Affairs Committee Office will continue to follow the guiding principle of "upholding safety standards and elevating consumption quality," with the aim of improving the quality of supply, optimizing the efficiency of rights protection, and enhancing the consumer environment. They will also strengthen targeted supervision, precisely prevent and mitigate consumer risks, and further boost consumer confidence — safeguarding the healthy development of quality consumption and injecting stronger consumption momentum into the high-quality development of the economy and society.
