Updated : 2026-02-10

Recently, the main structure of Plot No. 11 in the reconstruction area of the Shuangsha Urban Renewal Project in Hongshan Street, Huangpu District (hereinafter referred to as the Shuangsha Project) has been topped out. As the largest residential plot in the project’s reconstruction area and the one involving the greatest number of households, this milestone marks significant progress in the resettlement program, bringing 2,092 households closer to moving into their new homes.
Plot No. 11 covers a total construction area of approximately 300,000 square meters. It comprises 11 residential buildings and will provide 2,092 resettlement homes, which are expected to be delivered in phases starting from 2027. Construction on the plot officially began in August 2024, and after over a year of intensive construction, the first phase has achieved topping-out as scheduled.
At the topping-out ceremony, Cen Hanquan, chairman of the Shuangsha Community Economic Cooperative, remarked, “Our neighborhood is becoming newer and better day by day. As early as 2024, residents of Plot No. 2 had already moved into their new homes. On January 29 this year, Plot No. 17 was successfully delivered, and another group of longtime residents received the keys to their new homes. Now, Plot No. 11—the largest resettlement plot in the Shuangsha Project—has been topped out, meaning that more than 2,000 families are one step closer to their new homes.”
As of now, a total of approximately 470,000 square meters of residential reconstruction projects under the Shuangsha Project have started construction. Among them, Plots No. 2 and No. 17 have been delivered successively, providing nearly 2,000 housing units.
With a total construction area of about 3.3 million square meters, the Shuangsha Project integrates multiple functions, including residential, commercial, educational, and cultural preservation facilities. Located in the Lingang Economic Zone of Huangpu District, the project enjoys south-facing riverfront views and the transportation advantage of being built above three metro lines, with direct access to Guangzhou International Finance City in just two stops. It is also adjacent to major urban functional areas such as Zhujiang New Town and the Pazhou Connectivity Innovation Zone.
