GUANGZHOU, China – December 15, 2025 – The peak bloom period forecast for the iconic “Luogang Xiangxue” plum blossoms has been released for the 2025–2026 season. According to the Huangpu District meteorological authorities, the overall flowering schedule is expected to be generally consistent with previous years, offering residents and visitors a familiar winter landscape.
Based on a comprehensive analysis incorporating a plum blossom chilling requirement model, meteorological observation data, and current and forecast weather conditions, the predicted blooming phases are as follows:
Early Bloom Stage: Expected to begin around December 24, 2025, and last for approximately 10 days.
Full Bloom Stage: Anticipated to start around January 3, 2026, with peak flowering lasting about 10 days.
Fading Stage: Likely to begin around January 13, 2026.
“Luogang Xiangxue,” which literally means “Fragrant Snow in Luogang,” refers to the seasonal scene in which expansive groves of white plum blossoms resemble snow-covered landscapes and fill the air with fragrance. Visiting Luogang in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District at the turn of the year to enjoy plum blossoms has long been a popular winter activity among residents and tourists.
The primary viewing location is Luogang Xiangxue Park, one of the former “Eight Scenic Spots of Guangzhou.” The park is home to nearly 4,000 plum trees. During the full bloom period, scenic areas such as Qingmei Garden, Xiangxue Corridor, and Aimei Pavilion are transformed into immersive floral landscapes, attracting plum blossom enthusiasts and photography lovers.
In addition to the natural scenery, the 2025 Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Season will feature upgraded facilities, traditional marketplaces, and a range of planned activities, including sports events and poetry appreciation sessions.
