Huangpu District Strengthens All-Round Efforts to Safeguard “Green National Games” as Enterprises Donate 80,000 Tons of Carbon Offsets

Updated : 2025-12-04

Recently, Guangzhou’s Huangpu District has strengthened high-level coordination and resolutely implemented the Implementation Plan for Building a Beautiful National Games in the Guangzhou Competition Zone of the 15th National Games and the National Para Games. To date, the district has deployed more than 420 ecological and environmental law enforcement and monitoring personnel, inspected 209 industrial enterprises, restaurants, and gas stations, conducted 102 construction site inspections, and supervised the rectification of 31 issues. It has also carried out 235 mobile monitoring operations in key areas and addressed 22 environmental pollution and safety hazards, resulting in consistently good regional air quality.

Since 2025, the district has continued to advance efforts in pollution reduction, dust control, and carbon mitigation. A total of 195 key industrial enterprises have formulated emission-reduction plans, while 106 enterprises have voluntarily replaced activated carbon. Additionally, 202 major vehicle fleet operators and 13 key vehicle-using entities have stopped using heavy-duty diesel trucks and large diesel buses that fall under China IV emission standards or lower. Meanwhile, 292 construction sites have implemented staggered construction scheduling, and 48 gas stations and oil depots have completed integrity checks for vapor recovery and sealing systems, forming a coordinated, full-spectrum prevention and control mechanism to cut pollutant emissions at the source.

The district is also actively responding to the national “dual-carbon” strategy, fully demonstrating its commitment to hosting a green event. This year, under the guidance of the Huangpu Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, 22 enterprises in the district completed their carbon-quota compliance on schedule. At the same time, Guangzhou Hengyun Enterprises Group and GCL Blue Sky Gas Thermal Power Co., Ltd. donated a total of 80,000 tons of carbon offsets to the Organizing Committee of the 15th National Games, contributing concrete support to the creation of a low-carbon event.
