Huangpu’s Key Traffic Artery Reaches New Milestone, Expected to Open by the End of 2026

Recently, the main civil works of the Datongling Tunnel under the Science City–Knowledge City Express Channel (South Section) in Huangpu District have been fully completed, marking a significant step forward in the project’s construction.

This project is not only a key transportation project under Huangpu District’s 14th Five-Year Plan but also one of the three major “key traffic arteries” vigorously advanced through the district’s “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project.”

The Datongling Tunnel stretches approximately 3,134 meters. It starts from Luofeng Community in Luogang Street and ends at Xianjiang Community in Yonghe Street. Construction has now fully transitioned to ancillary works, including mechanical and electrical installation, road surface paving and finishing works.

The project is expected to be completed and open to traffic by December 2026. Once fully operational, the travel time from Knowledge City to Science City is projected to be shortened to about 13 minutes.

Upon completion, the express channel will facilitate quick and direct access between Knowledge City, the Changlingju Area and Science City. It will also help form a strengthened north–south regional transport network alongside Kaifang Avenue and Chuangxin Avenue.
