Maokafu Art Branch of Huangpu District Library Reopens with a New Look in Guangzhou

Updated : 2025-11-10

Recently, the Maokafu Art Branch of the Huangpu District Library officially reopened in Jingxia Village of Longhu Subdistrict.

Located in the heart of Jingxia Village, where natural ecology meets idyllic countryside scenery, the Maokafu Art Branch covers a construction area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Its design draws inspiration from “the laziness and agility of cats,” combined with the existential imagery found in Kafka’s works. Through a modern minimalist “box-style” layout, towering book walls, light and shadow installations, and lush garden courtyards, the library creates a reading space that feels both private and inspiring to explore.

The branch houses a curated collection of more than 3,000 books, spanning fields such as art and aesthetics, design, local culture, and philosophy. Special sections include a “Kafka Collection” and a “Recommended Reads” area curated by the faculty and students of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, offering readers a rich and diverse reading experience.
