Future Design Innovation Forum Held in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District

On October 26, the Future Design Innovation Forum was held at the Guangzhou Huangpu International Conference Center under the theme “Design Innovation Empowers Industrial Development.”

“We deeply recognize that the deep integration of technological innovation and design innovation is key to seizing opportunities in the new round of technological revolution. This aligns perfectly with the development philosophy of the Future Design Innovation Center — ‘Technology Empowers Design, Design Drives Innovation,’” said Gao Wen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of Peng Cheng Laboratory.

Ho Kinglun, Deputy to the National People’s Congress from the Macao Special Administrative Region and Chairman of Macao Juvenile Venture International Group Limited, noted in his speech that the group would leverage Huangpu’s geographical advantages and industrial strengths to build a comprehensive design innovation platform. He also emphasized Macao’s role as a bridge to explore new paths for design innovation and international cooperation across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and beyond, empowering the development of future industries and fostering closer “heart-to-heart” ties between Huangpu and Macao.

At the forum, numerous scholars and industry representatives delivered keynote speeches exploring technological possibilities across diverse fields.

Chen Xin, Director of the Greater Bay Area National Center of Technology Innovation, outlined a practical roadmap for the intelligent transformation and upgrading of Guangdong’s manufacturing sector. By analyzing development trends in technological R&D and model innovation, he provided new insights for enhancing the quality and efficiency of traditional industries.

Wu Qiong, Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, presented innovative achievements from the integration of art and technology in her speech titled “Design Innovation Through the Fusion of Art and Science.”Sun Lingyun, Dean of the International Design Institute of Zhejiang University, addressed “Design for the Future: What Kind of Intelligence Do We Need?”, exploring the core role of design innovation in nurturing new growth drivers for emerging industries.
