Recently, the industrial conference of the International Big Science Program on the Human Proteome Navigator (hereinafter referred to as the “π-HuB Plan”) was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. The event was hosted by the Guangdong Institute of Smart Medicine, which serves as the International Executive Headquarters of the π-HuB Plan.
At the conference, the π-HuB Park was officially established, and the “π-HuB Plan Industrial Ecosystem Strategy and Park Development Report” was released. This marks a new stage of integrated development for the major science program led and initiated by Chinese scientists, featuring synchronous planning, initiation, advancement, and results with the global industrial community.
Currently, the first phase of the π-HuB Plan industrial project has been launched in Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District, with its international headquarters located on Guangzhou International Bio Island. The π-HuB Park serves as a strategic extension of the Plan’s innovation system, promoting synergy between scientific research and global industrial development.
The park will accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and through industrial feedback mechanisms, help guide research toward market-oriented directions. It will also attract top talent, pool investment, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. The park is expected to become an exponential growth engine for the biomedical industry, significantly enhancing the global competitiveness of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and creating a trillion-yuan-level industrial cluster.
During the conference, the π-HuB Plan signed several major cooperation agreements with leading global enterprises such as Danaher and Thermo Fisher Scientific, and released a series of representative innovations in new technologies and products.
