Huangpu Open Avenue Fully Opens to Traffic

With the opening of the Jiuling Road Tunnel, Huangpu Open Avenue in Guangzhou is now fully operational. As one of the district’s three major “transportation arteries,” the avenue establishes a vital north-south corridor, connecting Science City, Maritime Silk Road City, and Knowledge City. This milestone significantly boosts traffic efficiency and reshapes the transportation landscape of eastern Guangzhou.

Stretching approximately 50 kilometers, Open Avenue features 13 interchanges and two mountain tunnels. The Jiuling Road Tunnel, a key segment of the northern Phase II project, marks the final breakthrough for the full completion of the avenue.

From the Xinglong Overpass to the Tianyuan Road Tunnel, and now the Jiuling Road Tunnel, each step has paved the way toward seamless connectivity. The avenue’s full opening has greatly improved travel between Knowledge City and Maritime Silk Road City, while effectively easing long-standing transportation challenges for local residents.
