The Fortune China Top 50 Tech Companies 2025 ranking was recently released, with three enterprises from Guangzhou making the list. Two of them—Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd. and WeRide Inc.—are based in Huangpu District.
Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd. is the first listed company in China’s plastics industry and the world’s largest manufacturer of modified plastics, offering the most comprehensive product portfolio in the sector.
By integrating its upstream and downstream value chains, Kingfa has upgraded from a single modified plastics producer to a diversified new materials leader. This transformation enables the company to maintain cost advantages amid raw material fluctuations while enhancing agility in product innovation and market responsiveness. Its products are exported to more than 130 countries and regions, with R&D and manufacturing bases in South Asia, North America, and Europe.
WeRide Inc. is the only autonomous driving company in the world with operating licenses in six countries—China, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, France, and Saudi Arabia. It has already carried out R&D, testing, and commercial operations in 30 cities across 10 countries.
Recently, WeRide, in partnership with Bosch, unveiled its one-stop, end-to-end assisted driving solution “WePilot AiDrive.” Having completed core function verification, the system is expected to enter mass production and vehicle integration in 2025, accelerating the assisted driving industry toward smarter, more efficient, and more widely accessible large-scale applications.
As Guangzhou’s—and one of China’s—leading hubs of science and technology innovation, Huangpu District has established a “2+3+N” strategic innovation platform cluster anchored by Guangzhou Laboratory and the Greater Bay Area National Technology Innovation Center. The district is home to more than 1,000 research institutions, two-thirds of Guangdong’s top-level innovation institutes, and half of Guangzhou’s provincial-level new R&D institutions, ranking among the top nationwide in both innovation concentration and capacity. With 48,000 SMEs and over 3,000 high-tech enterprises, Huangpu has fostered a dynamic ecosystem of innovation. Today, Huangpu’s technological strength is rising rapidly—shining brightly on the global stage.
