More Huangpu Villagers to Move into New Homes! Ballot Drawing Begins for Shapu Block of Guangzhou’s Shuangsha Urban Renewal Project

A ballot drawing ceremony for resettlement housing in the Shapu Block of the Shuangsha Urban Renewal Project in Huangpu District, Guangzhou (hereinafter referred to as the “Shuangsha Project”), was recently held. The housing units are located on Plot 19 of the project’s first reconstruction zone, comprising three residential buildings with a total of 570 resettlement apartments. The apartments come in five layouts ranging from 61 to 141 square meters, and the project is expected to benefit more than 1,700 villagers.

Before this, the Shuangsha Project had already organized a ballot drawing for qualification numbers. This round directly determined apartment numbers through a random draw, with the entire process supervised by a notary office to ensure openness, fairness and impartiality. According to the project, interior decoration and finishing work for the resettlement housing on Plot 19 is currently progressing in an orderly manner, with handover expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.

In addition to the plot involved in this ballot draw, Plot 2 of the Shuangsha Project’s reconstruction zone was delivered in October 2024, benefiting more than 5,000 villagers in Shuanggang Block. Plot 17 was also completed and delivered in January 2026, helping more than 1,500 villagers move into their new homes.

As a key project in the core planned area of Guangzhou Maritime Silk Road City, the Shuangsha Project has a total construction area of approximately 3.3 million square meters. Jointly invested and developed by China State Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd. and Knowledge City Group, the project incorporates multiple functions, including residential, commercial, industrial and cultural heritage conservation facilities, with the goal of creating a world-class waterfront urban area.
