Guangzhou-Built Sister Ships Delivered for Overseas Service Each Vessel Valued at RMB 265 Million

On the afternoon of July 8, ship horns echoed across Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard in Guangzhou as the sister ships DP World Antwerp and DP World Rotterdam, each valued at RMB 265 million, were successfully completed and delivered to a German company.

According to Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, the 1,250-TEU container vessels delivered in this batch represent a new generation of green vessels for international trade independently developed by the shipyard. The vessels measure 148 meters in length and 27.2 meters in beam and are equipped with a methanol dual-fuel propulsion system that can run on both methanol and conventional marine fuel. Combining environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and high operational efficiency, they provide a mature low-carbon shipping solution for European inland waterway and short-sea combined transport.

This batch delivery also marks Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard’s first large-scale construction and delivery of methanol dual-fuel vessels, successfully establishing a stable overseas delivery channel for this type of ship.

The Third Duty Team of Huangpu Frontier Inspection Station under Guangzhou General Station of Immigration Inspection made advance arrangements and provided full-process support, facilitating the overseas voyages of these high-end, green China-built vessels through efficient port services. During the concentrated delivery period, tight schedules and frequent crew embarkation and disembarkation placed high demands on clearance support.

The team established a full-chain support mechanism featuring “tailored plans for each vessel, advance services, and synchronized inspections,” integrating frontier inspection services into the entire process from shipbuilding and sea trials to delivery and departure.
