Guangzhou Huangpu Border Inspection Facilitates Clearance of Over RMB 200 Million Worth of Key Raw Materials, Supporting Stable Supply Chains for Greater Bay Area Manufacturing Exports

Updated : 2026-07-08

On July 4 and 5, two cargo vessels, Baoshan Star and Victory Galaxy, carrying industrial raw materials including nickel hydroxide and aluminum ingots, successively berthed at Guangzhou Huangpu Old Port. With efficient support from the Huangpu Border Inspection Station, the bulk commodities, valued at nearly RMB 210 million, were rapidly unloaded and delivered to replenish inventories for downstream industries in the Greater Bay Area, including new energy and precision manufacturing sectors.
According to data, since the beginning of this year, the number of foreign trade vessels arriving at Huangpu Old Port has increased by 65 percent year-on-year. Among them, imports of non-ferrous metals surged by 148.07 percent, while imports of mineral ores transported in bulk bags increased by 145.6 percent. The sources of goods cover Russia and multiple Southeast Asian countries, effectively reducing reliance on a single market.
A notable two-way flow of imports and exports has emerged. While large-scale imports of raw materials continue, exports of domestically produced steel structure equipment have increased by 133.33 percent year-on-year, and steel exports have grown by 21.2 percent, with bulk shipments sent to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and China's Taiwan region. Huangpu Old Port is developing an integrated industrial chain linking overseas resource supply, domestic processing and manufacturing, and global product exports.
To address challenges including scattered berths at the aging port and the mixed handling of domestic and foreign trade operations, the Huangpu Border Inspection Station has introduced a service model featuring “advance assessment, pre-registration, staggered inspections, and immediate clearance upon arrival.” While strictly safeguarding national border security, the station is making every effort to support the high-quality expansion of foreign trade and ensure the stability and security of industrial and supply chains.
