Dragon Boat Invitational Race in Huangpu embraces tradition, teamwork

On June 2, the second Jiulong Lake Dragon Boat Culture Festival and Invitational Race were held in Longhu neighborhood, Huangpu district, Guangzhou. The event attracted 24 dragon boat teams, divided into men's, women's, and open mixed categories, with nearly 500 participants.

The dragon boat race, as the highlight of the event, garnered enthusiastic participation from numerous spectators. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with the sounds of drums and cheers, creating a tense and competitive ambiance throughout the competition venue.

During the competition, the Tangcun Dragon Boat Team excelled in the men's category and ultimately clinched the championship. Established in May 2022, the team has stood out in previous dragon boat races held in Longhu neighborhood, with this time being no exception.

In the women's category, the "Riding the Wind and Breaking the Waves" team claimed victory, while the "Puxin Women's Team" secured second place.

Additionally, in the open mixed category for enterprises and institutions, the Guangdong Huangpu Bangyue Dragon Boat Team won the championship by a slight margin, demonstrating exceptional competitive prowess.

Through this Dragon Boat Culture Festival and Invitational Race, not only was the charm of dragon boat culture showcased, but the enduring tradition of the sport was also celebrated.
