Guangzhou has established a biomedical cluster centered on Bio-Island under its "one-core, two-pole" industrial framework. Huangpu district hosts over 4,800 biomedical enterprises and leads in medical innovation, housing pioneers like Meissen Medical in proton therapy and Wanfu Biological in diagnostic technology. The area has become a core biomedical innovation base with 351 medical device manufacturers and 515 Class III device certifications.

The inaugural session of the GHWP Academy in Guangzhou represents an advancement in international collaboration, aligning local expertise with global standards. City officials said their strategy is to develop a comprehensive "1+6+X" platform, inviting global partners to identify and explore cooperative opportunities in China's evolving medtech sector.
