Exciting dragon boat race begins in Huangpu

The third Jiulong Lake Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament occurs in Guangzhou's Huangpu district from May 14 to 18, featuring five days of engaging and vibrant festivities.

This event, held at Jiulong Lake, aims to blend traditional sportsmanship with contemporary cultural elements, fueling a nationwide fitness campaign.

The tournament will feature an upgraded lineup of activities, including competitive races, artistic performances, and interactive experiences. Highlights will consist of the "Go to Huangpu" Music Festival, exhibits of intangible cultural heritage, and captivating water shows. Participants will include enterprises, village communities, mixed teams, and divisions for both men and women.

The tournament will conclude on May 18 with a series of intense racing rounds, an opening ceremony at 2 pm, and a grand awards ceremony at 5 pm. Spectators ill also have the opportunity to enjoy kayak demonstrations, paddleboard displays, and motorized surfboard performances during intermissions between races.

Public transportation is strongly encouraged for attendees, with a convenient ccess via Subway Line 14 Branch (Guangzhou Knowledge City Line) to Zhishicheng Station, as well as bus services  343, 343A, 350, 352, 650, and 827 to the Puxin Village Entrance. Given the limited parking availability at remote locations, such as Guangzhou Knowledge City Plaza and Hejing UFun Mall, shuttle transfers will be necessary.
