The Guangzhou Science City - Guangzhou Knowledge City Expressway project, a critical transportation link in Guangzhou's Huangpu district, has entered its superstructure construction phase following the installation of the first prefabricated box girder at Shuisheng Reservoir.
This 13.5-kilometer corridor will connect the Outer Ring Road intersection to the Yongjiu Expressway through twin mountain tunnels at Datongling and Huangqi, integrating with major thoroughfares such as Tianyuan Road and Guangshan Highway.
The route comprises three contiguous sections: The Southern Section spans 6.2 km from 100 meters east of Outer Ring Road and the A-Line intersection to Shuisheng Reservoir as an urban arterial road with a dual 6-lane configuration. The Northern Section continues 4 km northward to Guangzhou-Shanwei High-speed Railway's northern flank, maintaining equivalent specifications. The Northern Extension involves three components – a 5.54-km rapid corridor linking Guangzhou Science City and Guangzhou Knowledge City, Yongjiu Expressway upgrades, and auxiliary municipal roads – collectively forming critical connectivity infrastructure.

The project will allow for rapid connectivity between the knowledge city, Changlingju Area and the science city, optimizing Huangpu's trunk road network and boosting regional synergistic development.
