Recently, the Guangzhou Tea Museum International Tea Academy in Huangpu district of Guangzhou was accredited as the world's first certification exam training center for Chinese Tea Sommeliers, which signifies a significant step forward in bringing Guangzhou's tea culture to the global stage.

This certification program, launched by the Guangzhou Vocational School of Tourism and Business and TÜV Rheinland Greater China, has developed a certification system that meets international standards, covering tea culture theory, traditional techniques, and modern innovations. Those who pass the exam will receive a globally recognized certificate.
As the world's first tea art education institution with international certification qualifications, the academy leverages Guangzhou's millennium-old commercial heritage to create a comprehensive curriculum for all ages.
Yao Lan, the executive dean of the International Tea Academy, said that the academy will collaborate with global resources to cultivate more ambassadors of tea culture.
The Guangzhou Tea Museum, themed "Tea and the World", features versatile spaces that provide students with an immersive learning environment and is poised to become a super hub for international tea culture exchange.
Lin Xiaoxia, vice president of Training and Consultancy Services at TÜV Rheinland Greater China, emphasized that the certification will help tea sommeliers become cultural bridges, fostering deep integration between the Chinese tea industry and the world.
