The southern section of the Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport Second Expressway is approximately 24.1 km long, starting from the northern section of the airport's second expressway and ending at the Huangcun Interchange of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway via Baiyun, Huangpu, and Tianhe districts. The project includes seven interchanges and is built according to the standards of a dual six-lane highway, with a design speed of 100 km per hour.
The completion and opening of these two projects will strengthen regional transportation connectivity, support Guangzhou in becoming an international comprehensive transportation hub city, alleviate traffic pressure on the Guangzhou to Lechang Expressway, Beijing to Hong Kong and Macao Expressway, and the Pearl River Delta Ring Expressway, and play an essential role in enhancing the direct connection capability between Guangzhou's central urban area and the "Guangzhou Northern Growth Pole".
