Huangpu ancient villages blend tradition, modernity

The documentary Huangpu Ancient Villages showcases the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient villages in Huangpu district.

Miaotou village is home to the significant relic of the Maritime Silk Road, the Boluodan Temple, serving as a crucial witness to cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

Lubu village, situated along the ancient Fuxu canal, evokes young people's yearning for traditional weddings with its Song Dynasty (960-1279)-style water wedding ceremonies.

In Wenchong village, with a history of over 800 years, ancient ancestral halls and traditional houses have been revitalized into social centers. The village has also established a lion dance culture exhibition hall, serving as a second classroom for the younger generation to learn and inherit the lion dance culture.

Liantang village showcases the fine tradition of farming and education in Lingnan villages and gives rise to many creative cultural and tourism innovations.

Shenjing village has a long-standing tradition of commerce. The people's famous traditional Shenjing has transformed traditional famous dishes into trendy new cuisines that the younger generation loves.

In recent years, Huangpu has innovated in protecting and inheriting historical and cultural heritage. Initiatives such as the Cultural Heritage Supervision and Conservation Workstation and the Cultural Heritage Prosecutor system have been introduced to promote the protection, inheritance, and vitalization of historical and cultural heritage.
