East Section of Open Avenue fully opened

The East Section of Open Avenue, from Planned Route 10 to the south exit of Yonghe Tunnel in Huangpu district, has recently fully opened to traffic.

Open Avenue is the largest municipal road to be built to date, spanning approximately 50 kilometers with 13 interchanges and two tunnels through the mountains, connecting the north bank of the Pearl River to the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.

As one of the three major "transportation arteries" in Huangpu, Open Avenue, along with Linjiang Avenue and Guangzhou Science City-Guangzhou Knowledge City Expressway, further enhances the overall transportation network in Huangpu.

The newly opened section of Open Avenue is 11.75 km long, linking the central urban area, Guangzhou's second CBD, the port, manufacturing zones, and headquarters concentration areas, thereby enhancing regional transportation convenience and efficiency.

The builders overcame various challenges and efficiently completed the section to high standards. They were faced with challenges related to high-pressure gas, aviation fuel pipelines, and the relocation of 110KV high-voltage cables. Key points like tunnels and bridges were completed one after another.

The new road makes travel more convenient for residents and promotes economic and social development. It will lay a solid foundation for the future development of Huangpu, further improving the district's transportation network.
