On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangzhou Development District (GDD), the major project signing and completion ceremony for the fourth quarter of 2024 was held.
Agreements were signed on a total of 160 projects, with a total investment of approximately 157.7 billion yuan ($21.6 billion), which are expected to generate a production value of about 183.7 billion yuan.
Among them, 120 have been completed and put into trial production, focusing on emerging industries, modern services, and characteristic industrial parks. Additionally, 40 major projects involve future industries such as commercial aerospace, new energy materials, and biopharmaceuticals.

The completed trial production projects include 61 industrial projects such as Phase III of Cansemitech, Southern Power Grid's Digital Grid Technology, Zhiguang Energy Storage, GAC Honda Automobile's expansion project, and the headquarters of Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals, as well as infrastructure, social livelihood, and urban renewal projects. There are also 41 strategic emerging industrial projects.
The Phase III project of Guangdong Semiconductor went into production, which is expected to increase the monthly production capacity to 40,000 wafers. Guangqi Honda's new energy vehicle production capacity has expanded. The Farasis Energy power battery production base project will contribute to the new energy vehicle parts industry.
Among the 40 major project agreements, projects like GAC's flying car project and the commercial aerospace project of StarWiz demonstrate strong potential for future development. TÜV SÜD Group is investing in and building the Greater Bay Area Operations Center in the GDD, accelerating development in emerging fields.
Through an efficient project construction service mechanism, the GDD has assisted in project construction, demonstrating strong development resilience.
