Huangpu traffic artery further extended

The section of Yongjiu Expressway from Fenghu No 2 Road to Zhongtai Express opened on Dec 9. This vital vertical expressway spans 18.9 kilometers, connecting and interlinking six major industrial parks including Xinlong town, Longhu Street, and Jiufu Street.

This section links with the previously opened Yongjiu Expressway section (Yonglong Avenue to Fenghu No 2 Road), totaling 16.45 km, providing rapid access to key arteries in the Guangzhou Knowledge City such as Zhixin Road and Zhishi Avenue and enhancing the overall travel experience for residents.

Yongjiu Expressway connects with major intercity highways like Guangzhou-Heyuan Expressway, Huadu-Dongguan Expressway, and Conghua-Huangpu Expressway, featuring interchanges with roads like Zhongjiu Expressway and Zhongtai Expressway. This synergy among highways, expressways, and municipal roads supports the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The interchange project between Yongjiu Expressway and Zhongtai Expressway, which won the China 2024 Highest Quality Evaluation Award for Municipal Engineering in June this year, showcases exceptional engineering quality.

The project utilized new technologies and processes during construction to enhance construction quality, improve project efficiency, strengthen safety measures, and accelerate construction progress.

Prior to this recognition, the project had already received accolades such as the Guangdong Municipal Affairs Golden Award and Guangdong Provincial Municipal Affairs Excellent Model Project, highlighting its remarkable achievements in the field of road infrastructure quality.
