GDD embarks on 2 major projects

Recently, the Guangzhou Development District (GDD) has commenced two significant projects, marking a new chapter in its development.

Swire Coca-Cola, a renowned international company, has launched the Greater Bay Area Intelligent Green Production Base project in Guangzhou, with an investment totaling 1.25 billion yuan ($172.44 million). Covering an area of nearly 128,000 square meters, the project will incorporate 11 beverage production lines and a three-dimensional warehouse, resulting in an anticipated capacity increase of approximately 66 percent.

Founded in 1995, Swire Coca-Cola stands as one of the largest bottling plants in Chinese mainland, catering to a consumer base of over 90 million. This initiative underscores Swire Coca-Cola's dedication to sustainable development and aims to establish a state-of-the-art factory characterized by its green, intelligent, environmentally friendly, and diversified features.

In a separate development, the Guangzhou Knowledge City Automobile Park project has finalized an agreement to establish its presence in the area. Situated in the initial zone of the knowledge city, the project is in close proximity to XPeng Motors' Guangzhou manufacturing base.

Leveraging its industrial resources and international footprint, the GDD intends to utilize these projects as a catalyst for hosting significant automotive events and international cultural activities. It seeks to create a hallmark for the high-tech zone's automotive culture and showcase the prowess of "high-tech zone manufacturing".

The signing and initiation of these projects signify a substantial stride by the GDD in promoting industrial advancement and nurturing economic growth.
