Huangpu advances with bonded area transformation, development boost

Huangpu district recently completed clearance of bonded business operations. Huangpu Customs has decided to conclude its supervision over bonded operations in Huangpu, unlocking approximately 1 square kilometer of land for new developmental prospects.

In 2023, the State Council approved the merger of the Guangzhou Free Trade Zone and the Guangzhou Export Processing Zone into the Guangzhou Knowledge City Comprehensive Bonded Zone, marking a new phase for Huangpu.

Since its inception in 1992, the Guangzhou Free Trade Zone has become a leading open economic zone, attracting domestic and international enterprises. A shift in strategy towards regional upgrading is taking place as the dependence on bonded policies decreases.

Plans for Huangpu involve leveraging the "One Zone, Two Brands" strategy to enhance projects like the Red Wine Culture Street, optimizing commercial and public spaces to establish a core business district in eastern Guangzhou, and driving high-quality economic growth.
