Huangpu district spearheads Guangzhou's development

Updated : 2023-08-24

Guangzhou, one of the country's major metropolises, has set its sights on 2049 with a comprehensive city development strategy.

This features collaboration between its Huangpu and Zengcheng districts to establish the Guangzhou eastern hub - a hub that will span a substantial 768 square kilometers.

The vision for the eastern hub is to be at the forefront of modern industry. With the adoption of a "Manufacturing First" strategy, Huangpu is keen on synergizing its resources with those of Zengcheng to foster industrial growth. Notable projects include the third phase of CanSemi.

In addition, Huangpu is gearing up to champion the next generation of the information technology and smart vehicle industries. On the transportation front, the journey from the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to Baiyun International Airport will be shortened to just three stops, significantly enhancing connectivity between the two districts.

Huangpu's master plan has already been publicized, endorsing the "Three Cities, One Island" development strategy. A notable mention is the upcoming 40th anniversary of Huangpu in 2024, for which rejuvenation strategies are already on the table.

The strengthening of ties between Huangpu and Zengcheng is seen as being paramount. The two are jointly committed to driving high-quality economic growth, all in a bid to bolster Guangzhou's position as a premier international bay area.
