China's 1st 'Joy City' mall opens in Huangpu

The nation's first "Joy City" shopping mall opened on June 30 in Guangzhou's Huangpu district. 

The mall spans an impressive 60,000 square meters and is located in the central business district of Guangzhou Science City.

The mall intends to establish itself as a new cultural and commercial landmark in Guangzhou Science City by focusing on three core demographic groups: business elites, young families, and dynamic youth.

The mall's infrastructure includes three large sunken plazas and approximately 20,000 sq m of underground space that is themed on natural ecology.

The mall will house over 130 brands, including the first Huangpu outlets for Freshippo and Guangzhou Restaurant. Of all of these brands, more than 20 percent are making their­­ debut in the Huangpu, heralding a new era for consumer lifestyle in the district.
