Updated : 2023-06-27

The Guangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology recently announced that important Shang Dynasty (1600-1100 BC) relics have been found in Huangpu district's Zhuyuanling archeological site in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.

The Zhuyuanling site is the largest Shang Dynasty period archeological site in the Pearl River Delta. It covers an area of about 80,000 square meters and a core area of about 15,000 sq m.

Archaeologists have found nearly 1,500 ash pits and more than 1,800 pillar holes. These are significant because they are related to storage, sacrifice, and construction activities during the Shang Dynasty period.

This discovery enriches the cultural relic resources of CSGKC and Huangpu.
