Foshan-Guangzhou-Dongguan rail to start construction in Sept

The highly-anticipated Foshan-Guangzhou-Dongguan Intercity Railway project has recently been thrust into the limelight.

At the 1st Greater Bay Area Modern Rail Transit Technology Academic Forum, Liu Zhicheng, general manager of Guangzhou Metro Group, announced that the groundbreaking of the project is set for September this year. Upon completion, it will provide a swift 30-minute intercity commute between Guangzhou, Foshan, and Dongguan.

The implementation of this project is set to enhance connectivity and mobility within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, particularly benefiting the residents of Guangzhou, Foshan, and Dongguan. The rail is slated to host three stations in Huangpu district, significantly broadening its reach and accessibility.

Incorporated within Guangzhou's Key Construction Projects Plan for 2023, once this project is completed, it will integrate seamlessly with Guangzhou's existing Metro Lines 8 and 3, as well as the planned Lines 24 and 26, further boosting the city's connectivity.

This project is set to fuel the growth momentum in the Greater Bay Area. It promises to revolutionize Guangzhou's transportation network and elevate the commuter experience with more efficient services.
