Leisure sports challenge kicks off in Huangpu

More than 500 athletes from over 30 provinces and cities across China participated in a leisure sports competition in Huangpu on May 3. 

The event featured intense competitions in 12 categories, including a 1-kilometer paddleboard race, a 7-km rural leisure run, and a biathlon. The competition also had a monetary prize totaling 200,000 yuan ($30,000). 

This was the first national-level water sports event hosted by China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), with race routes set along the Pinggang River and Longhu Ancient Post Road.
