500-kV substation put into operation in Huangpu district

The 500-kV Kebei Substation in Huangpu district was recently put into operation in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC).

With this opening, Guangzhou has built 400 substations at the 110-kV voltage level and above, becoming the first provincial capital city in China to have 400 public substations.

Kebei Substation is the first 500-kV substation in Huangpu district and will become an important power supply source for CSGKC.

The newly added power supply capacity is 2000 MVA, which is equivalent to about half of the current power supply capacity of Huangpu. In the future, its power supply capacity will increase by an additional 2000 MVA. This will directly double the regional power supply capacity, greatly enhancing the power supply guarantee for production and living.

The construction of the substation took 17 months to complete, with a total investment of about 570 million yuan ($385 million). After being put into operation, it will drive the investment of more than 1 billion yuan in the industrial chain.

The 500 kV Kebei Substation is located in Huangpu district.
