Expressway, tunnel passing Huangpu to open this year

The Conghua-Huangpu Expressway, which passes through Huangpu district, is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic this year.

Spanning a total length of 61.71 kilometers, it is being constructed in two phases.

Starting from Taiping town in Conghua district and ending at Changping Station of the North Second Ring Expressway in Changlingju, the six-lane two-way expressway will have a design speed of 100 km/h.

As of January, the key projects of the expressway have been completed, while construction of the precast beams, roadbed, and ancillary works are being accelerated.

Located in the center of the "Pearl River New Town-Financial City-Pazhou" golden triangle, the Yuzhu Tunnel passing through Huangpu is the longest immersed tunnel under construction in Guangzhou.

Construction of the tunnel began in September 2021 and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2025. After completion, the tunnel will connect Guangzhou Science City to the north with Panyu University Town and other areas to the south, which will promote the integrated development of both shores of the Pearl River.

In January, the reinforced revetment structure of the Pazhou part and Yuzhu part of the tunnel has been completed.

The Yuzhu Tunnel is under construction.
