Huangpu excels at innovation, entrepreneurship competition

The 2022 China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Guangzhou Division recently concluded, with enterprises in Huangpu district and Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone winning the first, second, and third prizes of the biomedical industry growth group and the start-up group, as well as the first and second prizes of the new materials industry start-up group.

Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone had a total of 896 participating enterprises this year, accounting for 27.28 percent of the total number of participating enterprises in Guangzhou, ranking first in the city.

A total of 482 enterprises from the development zone won awards, accounting for 34.53 percent of the total number of award-winning enterprises in Guangzhou, ranking first in the city.

Enterprises received a total of 31.8 million yuan ($4.46 million) in incentives, accounting for 42 percent of the total amount of rewards in the city, ranking first in the city.

Among the 72 enterprises that won the first, second, and third prizes in various industries, 37 of them are based in Huangpu district and Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, accounting for more than 50 percent of the prize winners.
