Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for November 13, 2022

On November 13, 2022, Guangzhou reported 189 locally-acquired cases, among which 153 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 32 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, two were found among people under closed-loop management, one was found in district-wide PCR testing, and one was found during a hospital visit. Guangzhou also reported 3,876 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, among which 926 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 2,855 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, 69 were found in high-risk areas, 12 were found among close contacts, nine were found in district-wide PCR testing, four were found among people under closed-loop management, and one was found during a hospital visit. Besides, 467 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases previously reported turned into confirmed cases. The above 4,065 patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment and are in stable condition. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine, and relevant control measures implemented in key sites of transmission. In addition, Guangzhou reported six imported confirmed cases and six imported asymptomatic cases.

As of 24:00, November 13, 2022, a total of 36,360 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 9,176 confirmed cases (2,751 imported cases and 6,425 locally-acquired cases), among which 4,299 cases are still being treated in the hospital. There are 27,184 asymptomatic cases (3,668 imported cases and 23,516 locally-acquired cases), among which 22,091 cases are still under medical observation.

Details of the Six Imported Confirmed Cases and Six Imported Asymptomatic Cases

The six imported confirmed cases are travelers from the United Arab Emirates (2), Solomon Islands (2), Indonesia (1), and Sri Lanka (1). The six imported asymptomatic cases are travelers from Japan (3), the United Arab Emirates (2), and Singapore (1).

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment.
