Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for November 11, 2022

On November 11, 2022, Guangzhou reported 259 locally-acquired cases, among which 231 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 24 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, three were found among people in high-risk areas, and one was found in district-wide PCR testing. Guangzhou also reported 2,921 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, among which 1,125 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 1,730 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, 36 were found among people in high-risk areas, 15 were found in district-wide PCR testing, seven were found among close contacts, four were found in voluntary PCR testing, three were found among people under closed-loop management, and one was found among people with high exposure risk. Besides, 435 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases previously reported turned into confirmed cases. The above 3,180 patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment and are in stable condition. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine, and relevant control measures implemented in key sites of transmission. In addition, Guangzhou reported one imported confirmed case and one imported asymptomatic case.

As of 24:00, November 11, 2022, a total of 28,625 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 7,846 confirmed cases (2,739 imported cases and 5,107 locally-acquired cases), among which 3,350 cases are still being treated in the hospital. There are 20,779 asymptomatic cases (3,663 imported cases and 17,116 locally-acquired cases), among which 15,923 cases are still under medical observation.

Details of the One Imported Confirmed Case and One Imported Asymptomatic Case

The one imported confirmed case is a traveler from the United States. The one imported asymptomatic case is a traveler from Pakistan.

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment.
