Huangpu promotes city greenspace development

At present, Huangpu has a total of more than 8 million square meters of municipal public greening, 40 urban parks, 13 mini-parks, one public square, 136,000 street trees, 47,000 square meters of overpass rhododendrons, and 11,000 sq m of three-dimensional vertical greening.

In 2021, Huangpu achieved an urban green space coverage rate of about 49.08 percent, of which the green space rate in built-up areas reached 42.84 percent, while the per capita park and open space area were about 21.2 square meters, further improving the quality and quantity of urban green space.

Following the scientific and ecological green development path, the district carried out greening design and construction, updated and improved more than 10 guidelines related to greening work, as well as promoted land greening actions.

Since 2022, more than 10,000 trees have been planted in the district, including 8,560 local tree species, accounting for 83.71 percent of the total number of trees planted.
