Huangpu R&D investment ranks 1st in Guangzhou in 2021

Eight of the 11 districts in Guangzhou maintained positive growth in R&D investment last year, with Huangpu district investing 25.54 billion yuan ($3.53 billion), with an investment intensity of 6.14 percent, becoming the first district in Guangzhou with an R&D intensity of more than 6 percent. 

There were three districts with an R&D intensity of research and experimental development funds exceeding the city's average, namely Huangpu district (6.14 percent), Nansha district (5.45 percent), and Panyu district (3.17 percent).  

The statistics bureau of Guangzhou municipality recently released a report on the main scientific and technological activities in Guangzhou in 2021. According to the report,  Guangzhou's R&D investment reached a new high last year, with research and experimental development funds of 88.17 billion yuan, while R&D intensity increased steadily to 3.12 percent.
