Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for October 25

On October 25, 2022, Guangzhou reported 27 locally-acquired cases, among which, 18 were found among people under quarantine, four were found in high-risk areas, two were found in fever clinics, two were found in district-wide PCR testing and one was found among yellow health code holders. Guangzhou also reported 46 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, 24 were found among people under quarantine, 15 were found in district-wide PCR testing, three were found in high-risk areas, three were found among yellow health code holders and one was found among travelers to Guangzhou from other provinces. In addition, Guangzhou reported one imported confirmed case and 22 imported asymptomatic cases.

As of 24:00 October 25, 2022, a total of 8,386 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 4,109 confirmed cases (2,693 imported cases and 1,416 locally-acquired cases), among which, 281 cases are still being treated in hospital; and 4,277 asymptomatic cases (3,530 imported cases and 747 locally-acquired cases), among which, 564 cases are still under medical observation.

Haizhu District

Details of the One Imported Confirmed Case and the 22 Imported Asymptomatic Cases

The one imported confirmed case is a traveller from Bahrain; the 22 imported asymptomatic cases are travellers from Mongolia (5), the United Arab Emirates (4), Singapore (3), Germany (2), Thailand (2), Tanzania (1), Armenia (1), Kuwait (1), Turkey (1), France (1) and the Republic of Korea (1).

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment.
